This morning we left Olive Branch, MS. under cloudy skies and a slight chill in the air. We had decided to ride a little out of the way today rather then try our luck with the morning traffic in Memphis. And now only having one bridge to 40 just complicated things even more. So we rode to Tunica, MS. were we got on 61 South (The Great River Road of Mississippi) then it was on to 49 North (Civil War Heritage Trail). Both ran through the Delta of Mississippi and Arkansas. This area is also known as the Mississippi Alluvial Plains, with elevations between 100 and 300 feet above sea level. Later crossing the Mississippi River the water way of the East. You don’t realize how vital the river is to our economy until you see the large barges running up and down the river. Afterward riding the countryside it was a 90 mile run out 40 West to Toad Suck Harley Davidson in Conway. AR.. Believe me that 90 mile run out 40W is all we needed to appreciate the back roads of this country. Afterwards we got on 64 West (Trail of Tears Heritage Trail) to Russellville, AR.. In Russellville we stopped at the Old South restaurant, yes another mom and pop type place, well worth the stop you won’t be disappointed. This is what ran across my mind today while we were riding this wonderful creation. Is that man truly can not predict what God can and will do. One small example is the weather. Last night and early this morning it was 70 – 80 percent chance of rain, But the further we rode it became clouds of gray and white against the backdrop of blue. Then later in the morning the Sun started to glare through the clouds to bring some warmth to the body. Just goes to show no matter how much technology man has God does have the final word. May you and yours have a blessed evening.
