Before leaving this morning, I met Joe and Johnanthan from Southern California They were heading to Walla Walla, Washinton. Did a blessing of their bikes and some fellowship before departing.
This morning as we drove out OR 39 with a temp of 42 degrees, it began to sleet. later we went South later in the morning we needed gas, stopped at the Red Barn located on CA 139 S gas was $5. oo per gallon bought a bag of ice was$3.10 per10 lb bag. traveling south on Ca139 it became Modoc National Forest. The Forest was not very vibrant or colorful, come to find out most of the forest had been destroy by fire. Then it was South on County 91 to Ca36 West to395 south. On 395 we discovered Honey Lake, during World Wat II it was used as a bomb testing site. During the Summer when it dries up it becomes a mini salt flat. We are very glad to be on flat ground for a while. We are in Carson City, NV for a couple of Days.we had dinner Fox Pub & Hotel, it is the oldest operating hotel in Nevada. Also, Carson City was one of the Pony Express stops of the Old West.
