Today we rode in The Teton National Park . Left this morning to cool temperature and clear skies of blue and white. After turning onto Moose Junction  we entered the park for some amazing sights. Traveling to Jenny Lake were the water was like a mirror reflecting its surrounding landscape. The massive mountains of gray and purple was the backdrop for the clear water below. We would see glaciers of white with some having  hues of gray, once again reminding us of  winters passed. Then it was onto Jackson Lake another beautiful sight to behold. We stopped at Jackson Lake Lodge for lunch before continuing our ride. Today we saw Elk, Buffalo and Antelope, still coming up short on a bear and eagle. Maybe the next time. Again we are fortunate and blessed to see the artwork of our Heavenly Father, also being able to share it with family and friends.

This morning thunderstorms and rain moved in to the area. Today was a free day for the most part, some went sight seeing and shopping while others rested. Later in the day the sun did shine it’s face and a few took a short ride before dinner. Paul left this morning traveling back towards home. His wife Linda will be having open heart surgery on August 28. Gary flew home today do to having leg problems. Please be in pray for traveling mercy and healing. Sorry no pictures today but tomorrow we will be riding in The Teton Mountains. God’s Speed from Jackson Hole.

This morning we left for Jackson Hole, WY. with a temperature of 46 degrees and a mist in the air. We rode out WY. 120 passing through Wind River Indian Reservation with the Owl Creek Mountain range to our west. Riding through Wind River Canyon we saw the river running along  its sides as the rails for the Iron Horse ran along the foot of the mountains with there halos of gray peering down up on us. Continuing south on WY. 789 to Riverton where we took 26 West to Dubois, stopping there for lunch at The Cowboy Café before going on.  On 26 West we rode through the Shoshone National Forest crossing the Continental Divide at Togwotee Pass with a elevation of  9659 ft. before entering the Teton National Forest.  At Moran Junction we took 191 South into Jackson with the Teton Mountain Range to our north. Despite the early conditions a day spent riding with family and friends is still a great day. We are still bless above all measures and thankful for our Lord’s traveling mercies.

First I will catch you all up on a few things before writing about today. Dave, Sonya, David and Cheri left this morning for a Harley dealership in Idaho. David’s bike is having electrical issues with the cooling fans. Second Larry’s bike dropped the rear cylinder and Kathy’s has a broke rear exhaust header. Both will be repaired after retuning home. Now about today: Michele, Kathy and Shelia stay in Cody to visit The Cody Museum and to do The City Tour. While Gary took the day off to also visit The Cody Museum, which consist of many different sections of Wyoming history. Mike, Paul and myself rode Chief Joseph Hwy. (296 Hwy.) and Beartooth Pass (212 Hwy.). First Chief Joseph is a 46 mile run which lies between the North Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains. Most of the land is open range and you must be aware of the free roaming cattle. The highest point is at Dead Indian Pass 8048 ft.. The highway is named after Chief Joseph of  Nez Perce Tribe, for he lead is people from Yellowstone to avoid being forced into reservations. Later they surrender to the US Calvary in Montana. So when you ride through the lands of Chief Joseph Hwy. you can hear their cry as the wind blows through the mountain air. Let it also serve as a reminder of their struggles for freedom. Next it was on to Beartooth Pass riding towards Red Lodge, MT., the summit is at 10,947 feet. The pass is surrounded by The Custer and Shoshone National Forest. Mountain peaks that reach 12,000 ft.. We saw glaciers and snow formed on the mountain peaks. Today the temperature at summit was in the low 30’s, after cresting  the summit we experienced rain, sleet and light snow. Then on our descent the clouds rolled in creating a white out condition for the next 20 miles. Reaching Red Lodge, MT. we took 308 East to Pelfrey then on 72 and 120 South back to Cody, WY.. The ride was worth seeing the awesome beauty of lands left for us to enjoy. Brother Coop today’s ride was for you my friend thanks for sharing. May you all feel the joy of a Father’s love who gave all for you by the sacrifice of His Son. Total miles ridden to date 3292.

Today we traveled through Buffalo Bill State Park and Shoshone National Forest to spent the day in Yellowstone. As we rode through the canyons the faces of the rock  which had been weather and some would appear to be crying tears from last winter snows. Then we would see mountain tops still wearing their white caps of a winter passed. The rivers caress the their banks to reach the cattails as the sun reflected off the flowing waters creating mirror for it’s own beauty. Then there were the scares of the land from fires and disease of times gone by. Thou words can not to do it justice and it is hard to explain the vastness and awe of this artistry which God as created. It is only by one’s own experience that one will truly know this beauty that we have beheld today.  May you take the time to enjoy the beauty that God has given us.

This morning  Mike, Paul, Gary and David met me in Gillette, WY. for breakfast. Afterwards we headed north on I-90 towards Sheridan, WY. with rain and cold temps. Just north of Sheridan we took 14 West riding through the mountains of Big Horn National Forest. The highest elevation was at Granite Pass 9033 ft.. These mountains were so magnificent with there colors and formations; as the Shell Creek ran through the canyon floor. On the other side of the mountain we stopped in Greybull, WY. for lunch. There we ate at Lisa’s for another great meal and great service. After lunch we continued on 14 West to Cody, WY.. On 14 there where mountains to our north and south with open ranges of farmland and grasslands. I know that this has been said before but it bears repeating. That God our creator is truly the masterful artist as He paint the canvases of this world. Thank you Lord for keeping us safe and up right as we ride the wonderful creation.

We rode out this morning to cool temps but by noon it had become  a prefect riding day. Riding out I-90 West then 14 West to Sundance, WY.. After a short visit with the Sun Dance Kid it was on to Devils Tower. Leaving Devils Tower we rode 24 East (WY.) traveling to the town of Aladdin with a population of 15, there we stopped at The General Store which is 110 years old. If you are interested in buying a town Aladdin can be bought for $850,000.00. Then it was on to 34 East (SD.) towards Belle Fourche, SD. there we went south on 85 to 14 A through Spearfish Canyon. The walls of the canyon which have chiseled through out the years were lined with Northern Pines, Blue Spruces and a occasional patch Birch trees. As the creek twisted its way through the canyon floor you could hear it speak as the water flowed over its rocky bed. Another day to enjoy God’s beautiful creation.
