This morning after breakfast at the Copper Kettle, we went out to the Bonneville, Salt Flats. just North of I 80. There are many Salt flats Norhtwest of the great Salt Lake, Bonneville being the largest. The salt flat is 12miles in length and 5 miles wide with a crust of 5 feet. The flat is comprised of 90% common table salt. Michele drove about 3 miles out on the flats, it was definitely a dirty and rough ride, one she will never forget. Upon our departure it was straight to a carwash, believe me you will need one. Bonneville is world known for its Speed Week and World Land Speed Records. Michele tasted the salt it’s very over whelming. It was very windy , blowing the salt all over your car. Another one off the Bucket List.

We spend most of the day in Virgina City, NV. Virgina City was established in,1859 it is located in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains @ a elevation of 6148 ft. it was the discovery of the Comstock Lode the first major silver deposit. It was the discovery of gold and silver that allowed the town to grow and prosper. on another note, Mark Twain lived there for 4 years while there he ran the local newspaper, mark wrote a bad article about a local miner and the miner challenged him to a duel. Mark not being to proficient with a gun, made decision to leave town. So, Mark and his brother high tailed it on a train to Reno, to live another day. Today there is about 1000 people living in Virgina City, NV. Later in the day we returned to Carson City, to Chill and catch up on some things, before starting back on our journey tomorrow.
